Media

Most media are obstacles to the transition for a variety of reasons.  Food firms are significant advertizers and there is a light touch around the negative effects of their actions.  Most media people are rooted in an individual responsibility model of health.  Journalist training related to structural inequities in our society is relatively weak and editors often suppress that line of analysis.  The traditional construction of articles, by focusing on individual stories, contributes to social disaggregation and a failure to understand the wider structural dimensions.  Complex realities are oversimplified.  False notions of objectivity.
